Receta de pan sin masa madre
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the yeast, honey (if using), and warm water. Ensure everything is well combined. Cover the bowl with a moist towel or cloth and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add the flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for two to three minutes using a wooden spoon. If the dough becomes sticky, moisten your hands to prevent sticking.
- Allow the dough to rest in a warm spot for two hours, until it doubles in size. You can use a microwave or another warm area for this step.
- After two hours, perform a stretch and fold three times, with intervals of 30 minutes between each fold.
- Shape the dough into a ball on a lightly floured surface. Place the dough in a bowl or bread basket to rise for an additional hour, while preheating your Dutch oven or oven.
- Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Once the oven is ready, heat the Dutch oven for 30 minutes. Five minutes before you’re ready to bake, carefully transfer the dough onto a sheet of parchment paper. Score the dough along the edges.
- Place the dough in the preheated Dutch oven. For a crispier crust, add an ice cube to generate steam. Bake with the lid on for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Allow the bread to cool before slicing and enjoying!
